Julian Thiele will receive Georg Manecke Prize
Dr. Julian Thiele will receive the award for his work in the field of polymer chemistry.
On October 2, 2019, the German Chemical Society (GDCh) will award the Georg Manecke Prize to Dr. Julian Thiele, head of the LRC junior research group at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research in Dresden. The award ceremony will take place during the conference "Multivalency in Chemistry and Biology" of the Georg Manecke Foundation at the Freie Universität Berlin.
The chemist will be honored for his work in the field of polymer chemistry. His junior research group succeeded in developing materials that regenerate themselves.
Within the LRC, Julian Thiele's junior research group is investigating the application of various polymers as immobilisation matrix for enzymes, supplied by junior research groups 1 (Leibniz-HKI, Jena) and 2 (Leibniz-IPB, Halle), which catalyse the synthesis of precursors for bioactive compounds.
