Enzymes at work
LRC Junior group leader Erik Freier interviewed on the scientific podcast provider “Wirkstoffradio”
Wirkstoffradio is operated by two scientists: Bernd Rupp, module leader for database design and chemoinformatics at the Leibniz Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (Leibniz-FMP) in Berlin, and André Lampe, freelance scientist, moderator, science communicator. They talk to people who are experts in the field of bioactive compounds. The initiative Wirkstoffradio is funded by the Leibniz Research Network "Active Substances and Biotechnology".
Erik Freier from the Leibniz-ISAS in Dortmund was one of the first experts to be interviewed in February 2019 on the subject of "Watching enzymes at work with CARS microscopy". Bernd Rupp became aware of Dr. Freier during a lecture at the Leibniz Conference on Bioactive Compounds 2018, which immediately inspired him.
The two-and-a-half-hour talk focuses on microscopy, enzymes and bioactive compounds. Moreover, the Leibniz Research Cluster was presented and is since then permanently available to a broad audience.
